Mrs. Norris <br />moved to schedule the Public Hearing for the Budget on Monday, August <br />25, 1980 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Mr. Cavazos seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor directed the City <br />Secretary to publish the Budget Summary in accordance with Charter <br />requirements. <br /> <br />The City Manager summarized revenue estimates prepared for 1980-81. <br />Mr. Gonzalez suggested that garbage collection fees be increased by <br />$1.00 per month for residential, $2.00 for commercial and $4.00 for <br />cannisters to generate approximately $60,000. The City Manager stated <br />that $200,000 from the fund balance of the General Fund would be <br />available for the 1980-81 General Fund operating expenses. Mr. Gonzalez <br />next reviewed recommended revisions (attached) to General Fund programs <br />which could be implemented to bring estimated revenues and expenditures <br />into balance.
