142 ORDINANCE NO. R980-35 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 20.91 ACRES LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTP~TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I WHEREAS, Edwardo E. Salinas, the record owner of a tract of land containing 20.91 acres, which land is contiguous and adjacent to present boundaries and located within said City's extraterritorial jurisdiction, has duly petitioned the City of San Marcos by written petition to annex said tract to be hereafter incorporated for all purposes within the boundaries of said City; and, WHEREAS, said petition has been heard and considered by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas; and, WHEREAS, a copy of said petition is attached hereto and in- corporated herein for all intents and purposes as Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, a description of said tract by metes and bounds is attached hereto as Exhibit B; and, WHEREAS, an opportunity has been provided after proper notice for all interested persons to be heard on the matter of said petition at a public hearing held on July 2a, 1980, said date being not less than ten (10) days nor more than twenty (20) days prior to the first reading of this ordinance; and, WHEREAS, said petition for annexation should be and 1S here- by granted; now, therefore, I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TE XAS : PART 1. That a 20.91 acre tract of land, part of and out of the J.M. Veramendi League #2 in Hays County, Texas, being more fully described in Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated here- in for all intents and purposes, said tract being a contiguous tract of land located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos, Texas and lying adjacent to present city boundaries, be, and is hereby, annexed into the incorporated area of the City of San Marcos, Texas. PART 2. That the corporate limits of said City be, and are hereby, extended to include the newly annexed 20.91 acre tract. PART 3. That the said 20.91 acre tract shall henceforth be a part of the City of San Marcos, Texas, and any inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of all citizens, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City. PART 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days from and after final passage and publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the area.
