<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS SETTING FORTH AN ITEMIZED
<br />ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH
<br />DEPARTMENT, DIVISION AND OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL
<br />GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
<br />BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1980 AND ENDING ON SEPTEM-
<br />BER 30, 1981 AND APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR THE
<br />VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE;
<br />REVISING THE BUDGET FOR THE P~ING FISCAL YEAR
<br />ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1980; APPROPRIATING MONEY
<br />TO PAY INTEREST AND PRINCIPAL SINKING FUND REQUIRE-
<br />MENTS ON ALL OUTSTANDING INDEBTEDNESS; PROVIDING A
<br />SAVING CLAUSE FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES AND
<br />APPROPRIATIQNS IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
<br />THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, section 8.06 of the Charter of the City of San Marcos
<br />Texas p~ovides that the city council of said city shall set a time
<br />and place of public hearing on the budget for the city and shall
<br />cause notice of said hearing and a sUIT@ary of said budget to be
<br />published in one or more newspapers of general circulation in said
<br />city;and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the city council of said city, at its regular meeting
<br />of August 13,1980, set the date of said hearing and directed that
<br />said notice and budget summary be published; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said notice and budget summary were published in at
<br />least one newspaper of general circulation in said city on August
<br />17, 1980, a date at least ten (10) days prior to the date set for
<br />the public hearing on the budget for said city for the fiscal year :1
<br />beginning October 1, 1980 and ending September 30, 1981; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said public hearing on said budget was held on August
<br />25, 1980, a time at which all interested persons were given an
<br />opportunity to be heard for or against any item or the amount of
<br />any item contained in said budget; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, at least fourteen (14) days have elapsed since said
<br />public hearing on said budget; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the appropriation for the ensuing fiscal year
<br />beginning October 1, 1980, and ending September 30, 1981, for the
<br />different departments, divisions, offices and purposes of the City
<br />of San Marcos, Texas be fixed and determined in accordance with the
<br />expenditures shown in The City of San Marcos Program and Budget
<br />1980-1981, a copy of which shall be filed with the person performing
<br />the duties of city secretary and which is incorporated herein for
<br />all intents and purposes, and that said budget be, and is hereby,
<br />finally approved and adopted.

<br />Section 2. That the budget of the City of San Marcos, Texas
<br />for the fiscal year beginning on October 1, 1979, and ending on
<br />September 30, 1980, as shown therein in words and figures be, and
<br />is hereby, revised and amended to show the words and figures indicated
<br />as revised in 1979-1980, in the budget for the fiscal year beginning
<br />on October 1, 1980 and ending on September 30, 1981.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the distribution and division of the above
<br />named appropriations be made in accordance with the budget of
<br />expenditures submitted by the city manager and revised by the city
<br />council in accordance with the provisions of the city charter and
<br />adopted by the city council.
