<br />4 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />september 22, 1980 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT <br />FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CAMP GARY PARK; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND A CERTIFICATE OF <br />LAND DEDICATION FOR PARK USE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the <br />following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. Mr. James seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE HAYS <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF COST <br />TO THE CITY FOR FIRE FIGHTING SERVICES PROVIDED TO PERSONS <br />AND PROPERTY LOCATED IN HAYS COUNTY OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN ~~RCOS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS; AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. Mr. Cavazos seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration allocation of funds to <br />complete Wonder World Drive (Redwood Road) area improvements. In <br />addition to the information provided in a memo, staff mentionted that <br />an additional $10,000 was needed to pay LCRA for right-of-way. Mrs. <br />Norris moved to table this item until the September 25th meeting so <br />that Council could be provided with more information on the cost of <br />curb and gutter. Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanim- sl <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration award of bid for police cars. <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to award the bid to Red Simon Ford for $40,695 <br />with trade-ins. Mrs. Norris seconded~the m0t~on, whibh~passed <br />unanimously. Mrs. Norris moved to award the bid for the dump truck <br />with crane to Commercial Body Corp. for $13,669 and the truck chassis <br />bid to Red Simon Ford for $12,825. Mr. James seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. Mr. Cavazos moved to award the cemetery <br />maintenance contract to A&A Lawn Maintenance for $39,150. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Cavazos moved to <br />award the bid for the electrical work and pump installation at main <br />lift station to Waterloo Electric, Inc. for $34,711. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a report on the Flood Damage <br />Prevention Ordinance. He stated that a meeting had been held with Mr. <br />Dell Greer from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and that the <br />following areas of concern were resolved in regards to the Flood Plain <br />Ordinance: (1) The City can determine the number of units which were <br />eliminated from the floodway area since January 1977, to establish a <br />"credit" of housing stock which can be replaced in the floodway area, <br />(2) Housing construction placed in the floodway will be constructed <br />at designated floodplain elevations, and no construction will be <br />allowed in the area which is projected to be the new floodway after <br />the San Marcos flood retension dams are completed, (3) Approval I <br />for construction of new housing stock in the proposed floodway will <br />be made only when there has been an established credit of a housing <br />unit which was the result of the City's existing Housing Replacement <br />Program or the result of credit received as mentioned in #1, and (4) <br />The city will be able to revise its floodway/floodplain map by requestin <br />impoundment data from the Soil Conservation Service. <br />
