102. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003- 41 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPOiNTING PRESDiNG JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO <br />SERVE iN A GENERAL ELECTION BY THE CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 3, <br />2003; CHARGiNG THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION <br />IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH PRECINCT; <br />APPOINTING AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD; APPOINTING A <br />PRESDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND <br />A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING THE <br />APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAiN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE <br />APPOiNTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY <br />EARLY VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On February 12, 2003, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an <br />ordinance ordering the holding of a general election by the City on May 3, 2003, establishing the rate <br />of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services <br />rendered during the election, making provision for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br />incident to the purposes thereof. <br /> <br />2. Section 7 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall by resolution duly <br />adopted, appoint presiding and alternate iudges to serve in the election at the polling places for the <br />respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and that ordinance further ordains that it shall be <br />each judge's duty to hold the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the <br />appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council. <br /> <br />3. Section 12 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by resolution <br />duly adopted, appoint the Early Voting Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting <br />Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station <br />Manager. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1.
