ORDINANCE 1980-47 61 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING "WATER RATE-SCHEDULE RW-l (RURAL CUSTOMERS)" OF SECTION 30-27, ENTITLED "RATES" OF DIVISION 2, ENTITLED "WATER SERVICE" OF CHAPTER 30, ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWERS AND SEWAGE DIS- POSAL" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY INCREASING THE RATE CHARGED TO RURAL CUSTOMERS TO TWO (2) TIMES THE RATE PAID BY USERS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That schedule "Water Rate-Schedule RW-l (Rural Customers)" of section 30-27, entitled "Rates" of Division 2, en- titled "Water Service" of Chapter 30, entitled "Water and Sewers and Sewage Disposal" of the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: City Of San Marcos, Texas Water Rate-Schedule RW-l (Rural Customers) Applicable: To any consumer served through a single meter for water usage outside the corporate limits of the City. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and reg- ulations of the City covering this type of service. Rate: $6.50 for the first 2,000 gallons or less I 70.0<:: per thousand gallons for all additional gallons Minimum Bill: $6.50 per month Multiple Dwelling Units & Trailer Parks: For multiple units served under one water meter, the monthly bill shall be computed on the basis of the average water usage per dwelling. The average water usage per dwelling per month shall be determined by dividing the total water usage measured by the City's meter by the total number of dwellings in service. The total number of dwelling units in service shall be the maximum number of units connected to the City's system multiplied by 0.90. I The average water usage per dwelling shall be used to calculate the individual rate charged per unit by applying the rural water rate. For January through June of 1980, the total monthly bill shall be determined by multiplying 50% of the rate charged computed under the average method, by the number of dwellings in service. Beginning July 1, 1980, the factor shall be changed from 50% to 100%. Delayed Payment: ~ All bills for water service shall be paid on or before the tenth (10th) day of the month in which the bill is rendered. A delinquent service charge equal to 10% of the bill amount shall be added upon failure or re- fusal of the customer to pay any bill on or before the tenth (10) day of the month in which the bill is rendered. Reconnection Policy: The failure to pay all bills for water service furnished
