<br />ORDINANCE 1980-47 <br /> <br />61 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING "WATER <br />RATE-SCHEDULE RW-l (RURAL CUSTOMERS)" OF <br />SECTION 30-27, ENTITLED "RATES" OF DIVISION <br />2, ENTITLED "WATER SERVICE" OF CHAPTER 30, <br />ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWERS AND SEWAGE DIS- <br />POSAL" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID <br />CITY BY INCREASING THE RATE CHARGED TO RURAL <br />CUSTOMERS TO TWO (2) TIMES THE RATE PAID BY <br />USERS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That schedule "Water Rate-Schedule RW-l (Rural <br />Customers)" of section 30-27, entitled "Rates" of Division 2, en- <br />titled "Water Service" of Chapter 30, entitled "Water and Sewers <br />and Sewage Disposal" of the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />City Of San Marcos, Texas <br />Water Rate-Schedule RW-l <br />(Rural Customers) <br /> <br />Applicable: <br /> <br />To any consumer served through a single meter for <br />water usage outside the corporate limits of the <br />City. Service will be furnished under this rate <br />schedule subject to the established rules and reg- <br />ulations of the City covering this type of service. <br /> <br /> Rate: $6.50 for the first 2,000 gallons or less <br />I 70.0<:: per thousand gallons for all additional gallons <br />Minimum Bill: $6.50 per month <br /> <br />Multiple Dwelling Units & Trailer Parks: <br /> <br />For multiple units served under one water meter, the <br />monthly bill shall be computed on the basis of the <br />average water usage per dwelling. The average water <br />usage per dwelling per month shall be determined by <br />dividing the total water usage measured by the City's <br />meter by the total number of dwellings in service. <br />The total number of dwelling units in service shall <br />be the maximum number of units connected to the City's <br />system multiplied by 0.90. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The average water usage per dwelling shall be used <br />to calculate the individual rate charged per unit by <br />applying the rural water rate. For January through <br />June of 1980, the total monthly bill shall be determined <br />by multiplying 50% of the rate charged computed under <br />the average method, by the number of dwellings in <br />service. Beginning July 1, 1980, the factor shall be <br />changed from 50% to 100%. <br /> <br />Delayed Payment: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />All bills for water service shall be paid on or before <br />the tenth (10th) day of the month in which the bill <br />is rendered. A delinquent service charge equal to 10% <br />of the bill amount shall be added upon failure or re- <br />fusal of the customer to pay any bill on or before the <br />tenth (10) day of the month in which the bill is rendered. <br /> <br />Reconnection Policy: <br /> <br />The failure to pay all bills for water service furnished <br />
