<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1980-53
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A
<br />CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 1890 ACRES
<br />LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDIC-
<br />TION OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT
<br />CITY BOUNDARIES; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS
<br />OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID 1890 ACRES;
<br />GRANTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID 1890 ACRES
<br />ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS
<br />OF SAID CITY; BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL
<br />OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES" RULES AND REGULATIONS
<br />OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />provided an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard
<br />at a public hearing on October 13, 1980 on the annexation by the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas of 1890 acres of land, more or less, out
<br />of the Thomas G. McGehee Survey and the William Pettus League and
<br />described hereinafter more particularly; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was published in the San
<br />Marcos Daily Record, a newspaper having general circulation in said
<br />city and in the territory proposed to be annexed, on October 2,
<br />1980 a date not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10)
<br />days prior to said hearing; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said 1890 acre tract is located either within the
<br />extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos or is
<br />property owned by said City; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, no part of said 1890 tract is located within the
<br />extraterritorial jurisdiction of any other city; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said contiguous tract is adjacent to the current
<br />boundaries of said city; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That the following described property, approximately
<br />1890 acres, more or less, adjoining the existing city limits of the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas, out of the Thomas G. McGehee Survey and
<br />the William Pettus League, being 263 acres, more or less, out of
<br />Hays County and 1627 acres of land, more or less out of Caldwell
<br />County, to wit:

<br />BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of that tract of
<br />land annexed by the City of San Marcos by an Ordinance
<br />of Annexation dated March 9, 1954 and recorded in
<br />Volume 28, Page 239 of the San Marcos City Council
<br />Minutes, same being on the Southwest Right-of-Way
<br />line of State Highway No. 80, for the most Westerly
<br />Southwest corner of the tract herein described;
<br />
<br />THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction, with the said
<br />existing City Limits, crossing the said State High-
<br />way No. 80, to the Northeast corner of the above
<br />referenced annexed tract of land, being on the North-
<br />west line of State Highway No. 80,
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the Northeast line of State Highway No.
<br />80, to its intersection with the Northwest line of
<br />State Highway No. 21;
<br />
<br />THENCE, leaving the said State Highway No. 80, in a
<br />Northeasterly direction, with the Northwest line of
<br />the said State Highway No. 21, crossing the M.K.T.
<br />Railroad and continuing on to the South corner of
<br />that 223 acre tract of land conveyed to W.W. Patterson
