6 ORDINANCE NO. 1980-55 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF PART OF LOTS NO. FIVE (5) AND SIX (6) IN BLOCK NO. TWO (2) OF THE J.S. TRAVIS ADDITION TO SAID CITY TO THE SAN MARCOS TELEPHONE COMPANY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO THE SAN ~~RCOS TELEPHONE COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, advertised for bids for the sale of that certain real property known as a part of lots number five (5) and six (6) in block number two (2) of the J.S. Travis Addition to said city in Hays County, Texas, also known as Urban Renewal Parcel No. 31A-5, in the San Marcos Record, a local newspaper with a general circulation in the County of Hays, State of Texas, on Thursday, September 25, 1980 and Thursday, October 2, 1980; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to said advertisement a bid was submitted by the San Marcos Telephone Company for said property in the amount of five thousand five dollars ($5,005.00); and, WHEREAS, said bid met the minimum desposition price set for said property by the Urban Renewal Board of Commissioners of the City of San Marcos, Texas; and, WHEREAS, said Board accepted the bid as the highest and best responsible bid for said property on October 13, 1980; and, I WHEREAS, said Board recommends the approval of said purchase price and the approval of the terms and conditions for said sale as contained in the bid document; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the terms and conditions of the sale by the City of San Marcos, Texas,::,of a part of lots number five (5) and SlX (6) in block number two (2) of the J.S. Travis Addition to the City of San Marcos, Hays County, Texas as described more particularly by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING, at a point in the east line of Fredericks- burg Street 225 feet in a southerly direction from the northwest corner of Lot no. Four (4) in said Block No. Two (2) for a beginning corner, this being the southwest corner of a tract conveyed by J.A. Travis to Mrs. Julian Travis by a deed dated August 3, 1905, and recorded in Hays County Deed Records, Volume 48, Pages 322-323; I THENCE, in a southerly direction with said east line of Fredericksburg Street 50 feet to a point in said line for corner; THENCE, in an easterly direction at right angles with the said street line 79.16 feet to the center of said Block No. Two (2); THENCE, in a northerly direction at right angles to said last mentioned line 50 feet with the center of said Block No. Two (2) to the southeast corner of the said above-mentioned property conveyed by J.A. Travis to Mrs. Julian Travis; THENCE, in a westerly direction with the most southern line of the said property conveyed to Mrs. Julian Travis 79.16 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
