8 ORDJNANCE 1980-57 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS DEDICATING 40.85 ACRES IN CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS FOR PARK AND REC- REATIONAL RELATED PURPOSES AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas is the owner of a tract of land consisting of 40.85 acres, more or less, in Cald- well County, Texas pursuant to deed from the United States of America dated June 25, 1975 and filed of record in Volume 374, Page 212, Caldwell County Deed Records; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to said deed and pursuant to that certain letter assignment dated January 2, 1975 from the General Services Administration to the Department of the Interior, a part of said deed, such land is to be used as a park or recreational area; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos desires to dedicate said 40.85 acres for parkland and for recreational purposes; and, WHEREAS, said 40.85 acres will be controlled by the restric- tions found in Section 3.07 of the Charter of the City of San Marcos; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That that certain tract of land consisting of 40.85 acres, more or less, in Caldwell County, Texas, more particularly described as follows: I BEGINNING at a concrete monument on the southeast line of State Highway No. 21, approximately 200 feet southwest of the entrance to the Gary Job Corps Center, for the westerly north corner of the tract herein described, and from which beginning corner the north corner of the former Camp Gary and the north corner of the William Pettus survey bears North 49002' East 13,271.11 feet; THENCE, leaving State Highway No. 21, South 410 481 East 423.55 feet to an iron stake set for a re-entrant corner of the tract herein described; THENCE, North 48012' East 116.36 feet to an iron stake set 35 feet from the entrance road to Gary Job Corps Center for the easterly north corner of the tract herein described; THENCE, 35 feet from and parallel to the entrance road to Gary Job Corps Center, the following courses numbered (1) and (2); I (1) South 46055' East 192.61 feet, (2) South 37014' East 789.04 feet to an iron stake set a point of curve for angle point; THENCE,. with curve, an arc distance of 200.58 feet, said curve having a radius of 859.80 feet and a chord which bears South 43055' East 200.00 feet, to an iron stake set for the northeast cor- ner of the tract herein described; THENCE, South 04031' East 305.91 feet to an iron stake set under fence on the north line of the MK&T Railroad Co. right-of-way for the southeast corner of the tract herein described;
