<br />8 <br /> <br />ORDJNANCE 1980-57 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS DEDICATING 40.85 ACRES <br />IN CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS FOR PARK AND REC- <br />REATIONAL RELATED PURPOSES AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas is the owner of a <br />tract of land consisting of 40.85 acres, more or less, in Cald- <br />well County, Texas pursuant to deed from the United States of <br />America dated June 25, 1975 and filed of record in Volume 374, <br />Page 212, Caldwell County Deed Records; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said deed and pursuant to that certain <br />letter assignment dated January 2, 1975 from the General Services <br />Administration to the Department of the Interior, a part of said <br />deed, such land is to be used as a park or recreational area; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos desires <br />to dedicate said 40.85 acres for parkland and for recreational <br />purposes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said 40.85 acres will be controlled by the restric- <br />tions found in Section 3.07 of the Charter of the City of San <br />Marcos; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That that certain tract of land consisting of <br />40.85 acres, more or less, in Caldwell County, Texas, more <br />particularly described as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a concrete monument on the southeast <br />line of State Highway No. 21, approximately 200 <br />feet southwest of the entrance to the Gary Job <br />Corps Center, for the westerly north corner of the <br />tract herein described, and from which beginning <br />corner the north corner of the former Camp Gary <br />and the north corner of the William Pettus survey <br />bears North 49002' East 13,271.11 feet; <br /> <br />THENCE, leaving State Highway No. 21, South 410 <br />481 East 423.55 feet to an iron stake set for a <br />re-entrant corner of the tract herein described; <br /> <br />THENCE, North 48012' East 116.36 feet to an iron <br />stake set 35 feet from the entrance road to Gary <br />Job Corps Center for the easterly north corner of <br />the tract herein described; <br /> <br />THENCE, 35 feet from and parallel to the entrance <br />road to Gary Job Corps Center, the following <br />courses numbered (1) and (2); <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(1) South 46055' East 192.61 feet, <br />(2) South 37014' East 789.04 feet to an iron <br />stake set a point of curve for angle point; <br /> <br />THENCE,. with curve, an arc distance of 200.58 <br />feet, said curve having a radius of 859.80 feet <br />and a chord which bears South 43055' East 200.00 <br />feet, to an iron stake set for the northeast cor- <br />ner of the tract herein described; <br /> <br />THENCE, South 04031' East 305.91 feet to an iron <br />stake set under fence on the north line of the <br />MK&T Railroad Co. right-of-way for the southeast <br />corner of the tract herein described; <br />
