207 ~ ~ \C.) \"~9 SAMPLE RESOLUTION (Federal or State - TxDOT acting as Agent) WHEREAS, the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTY NAME intends to make certain improvements to the (name of airport); and WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as: (add general description); and WHEREAS, the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTY NAME intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation for these improvements; and WHEREAS, the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTY NAME will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be $ 12.000 WHEREAS, the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTYNAME intends to name the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements (and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements); [This paragraph should be modified as necessary, see parenthesis, for the appropriate level of participation by TxDOT as agent.] NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTY NAME hereby directs NAME OR POSITION OF INDIVIDUAL to execute on behalf of the CITY NAME AND/OR COUNTY NAME, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the AIRPORT NAME. Note to Sponsor: This resolution should loosely define.the improvements to the airport and omit the estimated cost of the project. In this way, changes can be made to the project without requiring a new resolution. The project's cost, cost sharing and the specific improvements will be defined in the Airport Project Participation Agreement between you and the Texas Department of Transportation. The "Be it Resolved" clause of the resolution requires your designated signatory to acquire "appropriate authorizations" prior to executing any contracts or agreements. Should you prefer at this time to identify the project and project costs as they are currently defined you may do so by inserting them in the resolution. The estimated project cost and your share can be added in a new "Whereas" clause following the second '~Whereas" clause in the sample resolution.
