<br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Broken piping, leaks, unreliable valves, or other components will be repaired or replaced <br />as quickly as possible. <br /> <br />(F) a plan for carrying out provider employee training and safety relating to reclaimed water <br />treatment, distribution, and management; and <br /> <br />(1) Employees will be made aware of the potential health hazards involved with contact or <br />ingestion of reclaimed water. <br /> <br />(2) Employees will be subjected to periodic medical examinations for intestinal diseases and to <br />adequate immunization shots. <br /> <br />(3) Adequate first-aid kits will be available on location, and all cuts and abrasions will be treated <br />promptly to prevent infection. A doctor will be consulted where infection is likely. <br /> <br />(4) Precautionary measures will be taken to minimize direct contact of employees with reclaimed <br />water. <br /> <br />(a) Employees will not be subjected to reclaimed water sprays. <br /> <br />(b) For work involving more than a casual contact with reclaimed water, employees will <br />be provided with protective clothing. <br /> <br />(5) Provisions will be made for a supply of safe drinking water for employees. Where bottled <br />water is used for drinking purposes, the water should be in contamination-proof containers and <br />protected form contact with reclaimed water or dust. <br /> <br />(a) The water will be a source approved by the local health authority. <br /> <br />(6) Toilet and washing facilities will be provided. <br /> <br />(7) Precautions will be taken to avoid contamination of food taken to areas irrigated with <br />reclaimed water, and food will not be taken to areas still wet with reclaimed water. <br /> <br />(8) Adequate means of notification will be provided to inform the employees that reclaimed <br />water is being used. Such notification will include the posting of conspicuous warning signs <br />with proper wording of sufficient size to be clearly read. <br /> <br />(G) contingency plan for remedy of system failures, unauthorized discharges, or upsets. <br /> <br />Reclaimed water managed in ponds for storage must be prevented from discharge into <br />waters in the state, except for discharges directly resulting from rainfall events or in <br />accordance with a permit issued by the commission.
