ORDINANCE 2012 - 24 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER <br />MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CITY CODE BY AMENDING THE SPEED LIMIT IN BOTH <br />DIRECTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING STREETS IN THE <br />MOCKINGBIRD HILLS SUBDIVISION FROM 30 MILES PER <br />HOUR TO 25 MILES PER HOUR: SUNFLOWER LANE, BELMONT <br />DRIVE,WEST DE ZAVALA DRIVE, CLOVERLEAF STREET, EAST <br />DEL SOL DRIVE, PARKVIEW DRIVE, LACEY LANE, SUNCREST <br />LANE AND MOCKINGBIRD DRIVE; AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 82.003 and 82.066 of the San Marcos Code, on the basis of <br />finding that the prima facie speed limit is unreasonable and unsafe, the traffic register maintained under <br />Section 82.067 of the City Code is amended by adding the following speed limit: <br />Sunflower Lane, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />Belmont Drive, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />West De Zavala Drive, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />Cloverleaf Street, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />East Del Sol Drive, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />Parkview Drive, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />Lacey Lane, both directions, 25 miles per hour; <br />Suncrest Lane, both directions, 25 miles per hour; and <br />Mockingbird Drive, both directions, 25 miles per hour. <br />SECTION 2. The installation of speed limit signs reflecting the speed limits under Section 1 is <br />hereby authorized. <br />SECTION 3. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is held to be <br />unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this ordinance will <br />continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. <br />
