Speak at local service groups, leadership classes, and schools to increase the <br />awareness of local economic development. <br />Goal No.5: Stabilize and build on funding needs. <br />Strategy- Increase the funding base during fiscal year 1999-2000. <br />Actions: <br />1. Achieve an increase of 15% for fiscal year 1999-2000 in private sector funding. <br />2. Investigate other funding sources, including fee-based, grants, and program <br />Income. <br />3. Investigate and pursue amending tax status to place the EDC in the most <br />advantageous category. <br />Goal No.6: Publish accurate, quality materials to represent the community. <br />Strategy- Update and improve on each of the materials and lists published and <br />distributed by the EDC. <br />Actions: <br />1. Update the community profile twice annually, continually improving the <br />presentation of the data. <br />2. Continue to update the demographics package as new information becomes <br />available on ongoing basis. <br />3. Publish the hard-cover Fact Book annually, with several inserts updated more <br />frequently. <br />4. Make the Fact Book available on diskette and by internet. <br />Goal No.7: Act as a good steward of public/private funds to achieve these <br />measurable results with available funding as shown in the budget. <br />Strategy- Carefully account for all funds allocated to EDC, along with volunteer and <br />staff hours. <br />
