Any
additional surveys required will be performed at this point.

1.2.2 Locate by actual on the ground surveying, all visible and accessible on-grade and
above-grade features. Horizontal control will be on an arbitrary basis for all areas.

1.2.3 Provide contours at one foot intervals, elevations will be taken on an approximate
50 foot by 50 foot grid system, at abrupt changes in grade and along drainage courses.

1.2.4 Provide one permanent benchmark within each survey area. Vertical control will be
based on an on-site City of San Marcos benchmark. Establishment of vertical control from
off-site benchmark can be provided as an additional service as authorized by the City.

1.2.5 Provide spot elevations at the center point of each accessible utility manhole cover.

1.2.6 Provide size, location and type of trees -and domestic shrubs within 10 feet from
edge of street. Domestic shrubs will be included.

1.2.7 Provide full topographic survey for 4,450 L.F. of the 10,690 L.F. of sidewalk
proposed for design. Provide planimetric survey only (no elevations) for the remaining
6,240 L.F. Any additional topographic survey required for the Project can be provided as
an additional service if authorized by the City.

1.2.8 Prepare a written recommendation of design strategies and a preliminary
construction cost estimate for each sidewalk area to include utilities and/or curb inlets
identified for replacement/relocation, as well as a proposed construction schedule, phasing
and permitting requirements. These recommendations will be submitted to the City for
review and approval. The Consultant will work with the City as necessary to adjust the
scope of work to fit the City's budget and priorities.

2
