The Downtown Parking Advisory Committee has recommended that angle parking spaces be provided by the City along portions of Edward Gary Street and Hutchison Street in order to increase the number of available parking spaces in the downtown area. 2. The Downtown Parking Advisory Committee has also recommended that a one-hour parking restriction be provided for the 300 block of Edward Gary Street. 3. City Council approval is required for angle parking spaces along public streets under City Code Section 82.167, and City Council approval is also needed for time-restricted parking areas under City Code Section 82.160. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The provision of angle parking spaces along the portions of Edward Gary Street and Hutchison Street indicated on the attached map is approved in accordance with Section 82.167 of the City Code, and the tr"ffic register maintained under City Code Section 82.067 is revised to show the provision of angle parking spaces as shown on the attached map. SECTION 2. The traffic register maintained under City Code Section 82.067 is revised to show a time limitation of one hour for parking on both sides of the 300 Block of Edward Gary Street. SECTION 3. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is. held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. SECTION 4. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. SECTION 5. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance commits a misdemeanor and is subject to the penalty provided in Section 1.015 of the San Marcos City Code upon conviction. SECTION 6. This Ordinance will take effect 10 days after the date of its final passage, and the City Secretary will publish notice of its adoption in a newspaper of general circulation in the City.
