Furthennore, it is possible for a major disaster to occur <br />at any time and at any place. <br /> <br />Table 3, "Hays County Hazard Rating Summary", provides a useful tool in detennining the <br />types of hazards most prevalent within the County. The summary identifies hazards by both <br />severity and frequency. The Hays County Mitigation Planning Committee identified the eight <br />(8) hazards that are most likely to occur and cause major damage within the county-wide <br />planning area as those hazards identified as "major" or "substantial" in severity as well as <br />"likely" and "highly likely" in frequency.
