<br />Ha\~, ("I LW:\' <br /> <br />~ L 1,.., <br /> <br />An excellent mitigation action for the Extreme Heat hazard is distribution of box fans to the <br />elderly, low income, and disabled citizens within the community. The San Marcos Electrical I <br />Utility Fan Drive in 2005 by the City of San Marcos Fire Rescue (SMFR) and is the San <br />Marcos Professional Fire Fighter's Association Local 3963 distributed 25 fans to needy <br />families in Hays County: <br /> <br /> <br />HELPING PEOPLE KEEP COOL-San Marcos Fire Rescue and the San Marcos Professional <br />Fire Fighter's Association, Local 3963 donate 25 fans for needy families in the San Marcos <br />Electric Utility Fan Drive. (L-R) Engineer John Koenig, Engineer Larry Fassauer, Fire I <br />Fighter Quenton Pilat, Firefighter Kevin Holmes, SMEU Director Bob Higgs, Engineer and <br />Association Treasurer Paul Muth, Fire Fighter Vincent Marin, Lieutenant and Association <br />Vice-President Howard Minor, Fire Fighter Nick Archer, Lieutenant Bob Zook, Engineer <br />Frank Arredondo, and Lieutenant Kart Kuhlman. <br /> <br />Firefighters Support Fan Drive for Needy <br /> <br />Members of the City of San Marcos Fire Rescue and the San Marcos Professional Fire Fighter's <br />Association, Local 3963 made a donation to the San Marcos Electric Utility (SMEU) Fan Drive. <br /> <br />Twenty-five (25), 20" box fans were donated and distributed to area residents. The fan drive is <br />designed to help residents stay cooler during the hot Central Texas summer months. <br /> <br />Electric Utilities Director Bob Higgs accepted the donation from members of the Fire Rescue <br />Department and the Firefighter's Association at the SMEU offices on May 31, 2005 <br /> <br />The following hazards, Sections 2.11 through 2.18, were not identified by the Hays County <br />Mitigation Planning Committee as "Major Hazards" and were profiled for infonnation <br />purposes only to document the hazard information that was developed during the risk <br />assessment activity for the Hays County Mitigation Plan. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Ha~'s County, Texas <br />Mitigation Plan <br /> <br />79 <br />
