<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2006-1-51 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A JOINT <br />ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND <br />HAYS COUNTY FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT ELECTION ON <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2006; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO NEGOTIATE MINOR REVISIONS TO <br />THIS AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that it is <br />III the best interest of the City to cooperate with Hays County (the "County") in holding a joint <br />election on November 7, 2006. <br /> <br />2. Hays County is willing to participate in holding a joint election on that date. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />P ART 1. The terms and conditions of the Joint Election Agreement attached to this <br />Resolution between the City of San Marcos and Hays County for holding a joint election on <br />November 7, 2006 are approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute The Joint <br />Election Agreement in substantially the same form as is attached to this Resolution on behalf of <br />the City. <br /> <br />P ART 3. The City Manager and the City Clerk are authorized to negotiate minor <br />reVISIOns to thIS agreement. <br /> <br />P ART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 19th day of September, 2006. <br />
