<br />JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN HAYS COUNTY <br />AND THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />This Joint Election Agreement is made this the 19th day of September, 2006, between the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, (the "City") 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666 and Hays <br />County (the "County"), 111 E. San Antonio Street, Suite 300, San Marcos, Texas 78666, <br />pursuant to Chapter 271 of the Texas Election Code. <br /> <br />The City and the County agree as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City and the County agree jointly to hold an election. The joint election <br />will be held at the various polling places and election precincts hereinafter designated within the <br />corporate limits of the City, and within the boundaries of the County, on November 7, 2006, <br />from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at which joint election the qualified voters of the City <br />will consider sixteen propositions propOSIllg amendments to the City Charter, and elect a Mayor, <br />a CIty Council Member for Place 5, a City Council Member for Place 6, and a City Council <br />Member for Place 1 to fill a vacancy in that position, and the qualified voters of the County will <br />consider Federal, State and County offices. <br /> <br />Section 2. The election precincts for the City election shall be substantIally the same <br />precincts as those Election Precincts of the County which are within the corporate limits of the <br />City, and for the County the election precincts shall be all Election Precincts of the County. <br /> <br />Section 3.
