JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN HAYS COUNTY AND THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS This Joint Election Agreement is made this the 19th day of September, 2006, between the City of San Marcos, Texas, (the "City") 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666 and Hays County (the "County"), 111 E. San Antonio Street, Suite 300, San Marcos, Texas 78666, pursuant to Chapter 271 of the Texas Election Code. The City and the County agree as follows: Section 1. The City and the County agree jointly to hold an election. The joint election will be held at the various polling places and election precincts hereinafter designated within the corporate limits of the City, and within the boundaries of the County, on November 7, 2006, from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at which joint election the qualified voters of the City will consider sixteen propositions propOSIllg amendments to the City Charter, and elect a Mayor, a CIty Council Member for Place 5, a City Council Member for Place 6, and a City Council Member for Place 1 to fill a vacancy in that position, and the qualified voters of the County will consider Federal, State and County offices. Section 2. The election precincts for the City election shall be substantIally the same precincts as those Election Precincts of the County which are within the corporate limits of the City, and for the County the election precincts shall be all Election Precincts of the County. Section 3.
