<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2006-1171R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF 900 MHZ RADIOS AND <br />ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDER THE CITY'S EXISTING CONTRACT <br />WITH THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR <br />TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On May 18, 1998 the City entered into an interlocal agreement with the Lower <br />Colorado River Authority ("LCRA") for the City's participation in a regional 900 mhz trunked <br />radio system to serve the City's communication and public safety needs. <br /> <br />2. The City is experiencing maintenance problems with the older 900 mhz radios and <br />is beginning a phased replacement of these radios through its agreement with LCRA as the sole <br />source provider of radios compatible with the current 900 mhz trunked radio system. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The sole source procurement of eighteen 900 mhz radios and two control <br />stations for the Police Department from LCRA in the estimated amount of $44,950.09 is <br />approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The Purchasing Manager, Cheryl Panterrnuehl is authorized to execute <br />purchasing documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3. That this Resolution shall be III full force and effect immediately from <br />and after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 17th day of October, 2006. <br /> <br />~z~ <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />
