I I I 147, RESOLUTION 2006- 1}_6 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH CONNOLLY ARCHITECTS, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MASTER PLAN FOR THE SAN MARCOS ANIMAL SHELTER; RATIFYING THE CITY MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. In anticipation of the expansion of the City's Animal Shelter to accommodate additional animals received from Hays County, staff negotiated a letter agreement with Connolly Architects, Inc. (the "Consultant") for the provision of professional services in connection with the development of a master plan for the San Marcos Animal Shelter (the "Agreement"). 2. On July 7,2006 City staff executed the Agreement without City Council approval on the basis that the original Agreement amount ($16,000.00) was less than the amount triggering the need for City Council approval. 3, Since that time, the City of Kyle has expressed an interest in joining the partnership with the City and Hays County for animal sheltering services which necessitated the provision of additional services by the Consultant. 4. The City now owes the Consultant $30,700.00, due to the additional services provided by the Consultant. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The award of an agreement to Connolley Architects, Inc. for the proVIsion of professional services in connection with the development of a master plan for the San Marcos Animal Shelter in the total amount of $30,700.00 is approved. PART 2. is ratified. The execution of the Agreement by the City Manager on behalf of the City PART 3. after its passage. This Resolution shall be III full force and effect immediately from and ADOPTED this the 15th day of August 2006.
