ORDINANCE NO. 2003- 1 2 <br /> <br />AN ORDiNANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.362 OF <br />THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR <br />ONE MEMBER OF THE SAN MARCOS YOUTH <br />COMMISSION; . AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />~121. <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council established a San Mm'cos Youth Commission in 1999 to further the <br />City's participation in the "America's Promise" program and to promote the healthy <br />development of all youth in the greater San Marcos area. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council wishes to amend the ordinance establishing the Youth Commission <br />to broaden the qualifications for members who represent youth service organizations. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Section 2.362 of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining <br />indicates added text, v .......... indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 2.362. Established; composition; terms. <br /> <br />(a) The San Marcos Youth Cmmnission is established. The commission is composed of <br />16 members appointed by the city council. In making appointments to the conuuission, <br />the council will endeavor to appoint persons who are representative of the following <br />groups, organizations or interests: <br /> <br />No. of appointments <br /> <br />Representing <br /> <br />3 youths <br /> <br />Youth service organizations ................
