Please review the attached Texas Lawyer's Creed, and if you have any questions, we will be glad to discuss them with you. Conflict of Interest 11. In representing you, we recognize that we may be disqualified from representing any client in any matter related to our representation of you. We also recognize that we may be disqualified from representing any client in any matter in which confidential information concerning you and made available to us during our representation of you becomes malerial or relevant to another matter or in which use or knowledge of such information could be adverse to your interest. You agree that, except as stated above, the firm shall be entitled to represent the interests of any party adverse to you in litigation, business negotialions, or other legal matters involving other parties. Termination of Representation 12. You may discharge us from this representation at any time. We will be free to withdraw at any time and without cause, subject to reasonable notice under the circumstances, and subject to approval by any court in which your matter may be pending. We will be entitled to receive compensation from you for all services rendered and all disbmsements made, pursuant to the provisions of this agreement, up to the time of withdrawal. Circumstances may arise that will require us to withdraw from representation under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct or other applicable professional standards. In such circumstances, as well as the instances referred to above, we will cooperate in the transfer of the matter to other counsel of your choice. Document Retention 13, At the conclusion of our representation, on your request we will return all documents you provided to us. You agree that we may retain copies of all such documents as well as all other materials. We retain files for 5 years. After 5 years from the conclusion of our representation, we may destroy any file without further notice to you. During the 5 year period, we will make the file available to you for copying upon request. We discuss the terms and conditions of our engagement so candidly because you are entitled to know and this should avoid any misunderstandings later. Please sign a copy of this letter in the space below, indicating your agreement to the terms and conditions set forth above. After we receive your signed copy of this letter and the required retainer deposit, we will conunence our representation of you in the malter.
