ORDINANCE NO. 2006------3-2- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A 30.17 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1400 BLOCK OF CENTERPOINT ROAD AS "GC" GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. RECITALS: 1. On April 25, 2006, the City Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing regarding a request to establish the zoning as "GC" General Commercial District for a 30.17 acre tract of property located in the 1400 Block of Centerpoint Road. 2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission, on April 25, 2006, considered and voted to approve the request, and recommended that the request be approved by the City Council. 3. The City Council held a public hearing on July 3. 2006 regarding the request. , 2006, 4. All requirements of Chapter 1, Development Procedures, of the City Land Development Code pertaining to Future Land Use Map Amendments and Zoning Map amendments have been met. 5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section 4.1.2.2 of the City Land Development Code, is amended to establish the zoning for the following real property as "GC" General Commercial District: Street address: 1400 Block of Centerpoint Road Size: 30.17 acres Legal description: See the metes and bounds description attached as Exhibit A.
