RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 92R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS <br />DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION WITH THE UNITED <br />STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL <br />EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ( "FEMA ") FOR A STAFFING <br />FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE ( "SAFER ") <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $713,148.00 FOR THE ADDITION OF SIX <br />FULL -TIME FIREFIGHTERS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO <br />EXECUTE ALL CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS WITH FEMA AND <br />OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE GRANT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS.) <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to submit an <br />application with the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency ( "FEMA ") for a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response <br />( "SAFER ") Grant in the amount of $713,148.00 for the addition of six full -time firefighters. <br />PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to accept the SAFER <br />Grant, if awarded to the City, and to execute on behalf of the City, at the appropriate time, all <br />contracts and documents with FEMA and such other parties as are necessary and appropriate for <br />implementation of the SAFER Grant, consistent with this Resolution. <br />PART 3.
