<br />I <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />FOR SMALL BUSINESSES <br /> <br />This Agreement is dated Novemb~2006, and is between the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />a Texas municipal corporation (the "City"), and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce (the <br />"Chamber") . <br /> <br />1. ALLOCATION OF FUNDS <br /> <br />A. The City of San Marcos will provide $49,000.00 to the Chamber for services rendered <br />under this agreement. <br />B. The Chamber shall maintain complete and accurate financial records of each expenditure <br />of the funds and, at the request of the City Manager or his designee, or of any other person, shall <br />make the records available for inspection and review during normal business hours. <br /> <br />2. DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />A. For the purposes of this Agreement: <br />Small Business shall mean any business whose gross annual revenues do not exceed <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />$500,000. <br /> <br />3. USE OF FUNDS <br /> <br />A. The Chamber will provide economic development services to Economic Development <br />San Marcos ("EDSM") prospects that are small businesses. These services will include evaluating <br />the immediate needs of such prospects and assisting them in finding resources appropriate to their <br />needs. <br /> <br />B. The Chamber will coordinate and develop, along with the director of EDSM, a BREP <br />survey that is inclusive to all small businesses within San Marcos and the surrounding area. <br />C. The Chamber will work with EDSM to facilitate educational events that communicate <br />the efforts of the City, the Chamber, and EDSM to the public regarding their collaborative efforts in <br />working towards established economic development goals. <br />D. The Chamber Executive will meet at least monthly with the director of EDSM to discuss <br />observations, efforts, and public policy issues impacting business. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 <br />
