RESOLUTION 2006- 204 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A ROUTINE AIRPORT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM GRANT; APPROVING A ROUTINE AIRPORT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ROUTINE MAINTNENACE OF THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; CERTIFYING THAT CITY MATCHING FUNDS FOR THIS AGREEMENT ARE READILY AVIALABLE AT THIS TIME; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE GRANT APPLICATION AND THE GRANT AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. On August 29, 1996 the Texas Department of Transportation ("TxDOT") implemented the Routine Airport Maintenance Program ("RAMP") to assist with routine maintenance for general aviation airports. 2. The City has participated in the RAMP program since 1997. 3. The City submitted an application for assistance from TxDOT through its RAMP program in October, 2006. 4. The City was notified by TxDOT on November 3, 2006 that it has received grant funding from TxDOT through the RAMP program (CSJ Number M714SMRCO). BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. grant is ratified. The submission of a grant application to TxDOT for a FY-2007 RAMP PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $50,000.00 in local matching funds by the City is approved. PART 3. The attached FY-2007 RAMP grant agreement (CSJ Number M714SMRCO) with TxDOT for routine maintenance of the San Marcos Municipal Airport is approved. PART 4. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the grant agreement and related documents and to act in all matters related to the grant application and the grant agreement on behalf of the City.
