<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006- 209 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE <br />LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY, FOR PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE PARTNERSHIP IN PARKS PROGRAM; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. Partnership in Parks is a program of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) providing <br />funding for political subdivisions in the LCRA's service area for local park and recreation projects. <br /> <br />2. The City Council of the City of San Marcos has agreed to participate in the purchase of 250 acres of <br />land above Spring Lake for use as a park and nature preserve. <br /> <br />3. The City Council of the City of San Marcos certifies that the City is eligible to assistance under the <br />Partnership in Parks program. <br /> <br />4. The City certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City of San Marcos City Council approves submission of the attached grant application <br />to the LCRA for the Partnership in Parks Program. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to act and the City's representative and <br />execute the attached grant application, and any subsequent grant agreement documents with the Lower <br />Colorado River Authority for the purpose of the Partnership in Parks Program. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager, Dan O'Leary, to make application to the <br />LCRA concerning the Spring Lake site, to be known as "The San Marcos Springs Recharge Area and <br />Conservation Project" in the City of San Marcos for use as a park site. <br /> <br />PART 4.
