<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006- 66 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING DIVISION 18 OF ARTICLE 3 OF <br />CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE <br />COMPOSITION AND DUTIES OF THE ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT BOARD; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The Economic Development Board (the "Board"), established by City Code Section <br />2.369, provides advice to the City Council on matters of economic policy and assists in the <br />oversight of economic development agreements between the City and private organizations. <br /> <br />2. The City Council wishes to make revisions to the composition and duties of the <br />Board. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Division 18 of Article 3 of Chapter 2 of the City Code is amended as <br />follows (underlining indicates added text; o'/erstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />DIVISION 18. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD <br /> <br />Sec. 2.369. Created; composition; terms; officers. <br /> <br />(a) The economic development board is created, composed of eleven members appointed <br />by the city council <br /> <br />No. of Position/Representing <br />appts. <br />1 Mayor (ex officio) <br />1 Hays County (designated by Commissioners Court and confirmed by <br /> Council) (contingent on County contribution to funding) <br />1 San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce President (ex officio non-voting <br /> member) <br />2 CEO or senior management staff member of large company (100+ <br /> employees) in the City <br />2 CEO or senior management staff member of financial institution in the City <br />2 CEO or senior management staff member of manufacturing firm in the City <br />2 Citizens-at -large <br />1 City Manager (ex officio non-voting member) <br />
