I ORDINANCE NO. 2006- 65 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING DIVISION 15 OF ARTICLE 3 OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE COMPOSITION AND DUTIES OF THE CONVENTION AND VISITOR BUREAU ADVISORY BOARD; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. RECITALS: 1. The Convention and Visitor Bureau Advisory Board (the "Board"), established by City Code Section 2.351, oversees the tourism promotional activities of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, which are funded with City hotel occupancy taxes. 2. The City Council wishes to make revisions to the composition and duties of the Board. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: I SECTION 1. Division 15 of Article 3 of Chapter 2 of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining indicates added text; o';erstrike indicates deleted text): , DIVISION 13. CONVENTION AND VISITOR BUREAU ADVISORY BOARD Sec. 2.351. Created; composition; terms; officers. (a) The convention and visitor bureau advisory board is created, composed of 12 .g voting members appointed by the city council as described in subsection (b), and six fWe non-voting ex-officio members: the city manager, the president of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, the chair and a vice-chair of the board of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, the president of the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the economic develoopment director of Economic Development San Marcos.
