<br /> 80 <br /> RESOLUTION 1998- 57 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED <br /> INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT <br /> GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION ON MAY 2, 1998; AUTHORIZING <br /> THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF <br /> THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City Council ofthe City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that <br /> it is in the best interest of the City to cooperate with the San Marcos Consolidated <br /> Independent School District ("SMCISD") in holding a joint election on May 2, 1998. <br /> 2. The SMCISD is willing to participate in holding a joint election on that date. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The Joint Election Agreement attached to this Resolution between the <br /> City of San Marcos and the SMCISD for holding a joint election on May 2, 1998 is <br /> approved. <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the <br /> agreement on behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> PART 3.
