8.4 EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND JANIS K. WOMACK FOR THE POSITION OF CITY SECRETARY STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS CITY OF SAN MARCOS THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this 17th day of March, 1998, by and between the City of San Marcos Texas, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "Employer," and Janis K. Womack, hereinafter called "Employee", both of whom understand as follows: WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, Employer desires to continue to employ the services of said Janis K. Womack as City Secretary of the City of San Marcos, as provided by Sec. 4.02 of the City Charter; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body, hereinafter called "City Council," to provide certain benefits, to establish certain conditions of employment, and to set working conditions of said Employee; and WHEREAS, Employee desires to continue employment as City Secretary of said City of San Marcos; and WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that Employee is a member of the Texas Municipal Clerk's Association (TMCA), International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (I.A.c.R.E.O.T.), The Election Center, Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL), and that Employee is subject to the Codes of Ethics of these organizations; NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein contained, the parties agree as foJIows: Section 1: Duties Employer hereby agrees to employ said Janis K. Womack as City Secretary of said Employer to perform the functions and duties specified in said Sec. 4.02 of the City Charter and applicable provisions of the City Code and to perform other legally permissible and proper duties and functions as the City Council shall from time to time assign.
