<br /> 8.4 <br /> EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND JANIS K. WOMACK <br /> FOR THE POSITION OF CITY SECRETARY <br /> STATE OF TEXAS <br /> COUNTY OF HAYS KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this 17th day of March, 1998, by and between the <br /> City of San Marcos Texas, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "Employer," and Janis K. <br /> Womack, hereinafter called "Employee", both of whom understand as follows: <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, Employer desires to continue to employ the services of said Janis K. Womack as <br /> City Secretary of the City of San Marcos, as provided by Sec. 4.02 of the City Charter; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body, hereinafter called "City Council," to provide <br /> certain benefits, to establish certain conditions of employment, and to set working conditions of <br /> said Employee; and <br /> WHEREAS, Employee desires to continue employment as City Secretary of said City of San <br /> Marcos; and <br /> WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that Employee is a member of the Texas Municipal Clerk's <br /> Association (TMCA), International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), International <br /> Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (I.A.c.R.E.O.T.), The <br /> Election Center, Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and Council on <br /> Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL), and that Employee is subject to the Codes of Ethics of <br /> these organizations; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein contained, the parties <br /> agree as foJIows: <br /> Section 1: Duties <br /> Employer hereby agrees to employ said Janis K. Womack as City Secretary of said Employer to <br /> perform the functions and duties specified in said Sec. 4.02 of the City Charter and applicable <br /> provisions of the City Code and to perform other legally permissible and proper duties and <br /> functions as the City Council shall from time to time assign. <br />
