P 0:::.= <br />¡IF Ii C (.) «11 <br />~~ N W~ <br />&i~. ~¡ ORDINANCE 1998- 31 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A RUNOFF SPECIAL ELECTION BY THE <br />CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 30, 1998 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />ELECTING A MAYOR, A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 1, AND A CITY <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 2; ESTABLISHING EARLY VOTING <br />LOCATIONS AND POLLING PLACES FOR THIS ELECTION; MAKING <br />PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. A runoff election is ordered to be held by the City of San Marcos, at <br />the polling places and election precincts within ,the corporate limits of the City, as <br />designated in this ordinance, on the 30th day of May, 1998, from the hours of 7:00 a.m. <br />to 7:00 p.m., at which election there shall be elected by the qualified voters of the City, <br />a Mayor for a term of two years, a City Council Member for Place 1, and a City Council <br />Member for Place 2, for terms of three years each, in accordance with applicable <br />provisions of the City Charter and State law. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The election precincts for the City election shall be substantially the <br />same precincts as those Hays County Election Precincts which are within the corporate <br />limits of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The polling places for each precinct for this election shall be as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Precinct # Polling Place <br /> <br />111 Dunbar Center <br />801 Martin Luther King Drive <br /> <br />112 Guadalupe Hall <br />Corner of Churchill and Roosevelt <br /> <br />113 San Marcos High School Cafeteria <br />1301 State Highway 123 <br /> <br />114 San Marcos City Hall <br />630 E. Hopkins <br /> <br />116 Maria Hernandez Middle School <br />333 Stagecoach Trail <br /> <br />120 C.M.
