'at ~i3 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 14.321 OF THE CITY <br /> CODE TO REVISE THE COMPOSITION OF THE ELECTRICAL <br /> BOARD; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> Be IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 14.321(a) of the City Code is amended as follows: (overstrik-e <br /> indicates deleted language and underlining indicates added language): <br /> <br /> (a) The electrical board is established. The board consists of six <br /> members, five of whom have voting rights and three of whom <br /> constitute a quorum. One member will be a representative of the <br /> electric utility department nominated by the electric utility board and <br /> approved by the city council. Two Three members will be master <br /> electricians who are licensed by the city and who obtained their <br /> licenses through testing in the city. Two Effie member~ may be either <br /> 8ft electrician~ or a resident~ of the city. The sixth member will be <br /> appointed by the building official from the official's staff and will have <br /> no voting rights. <br /> SECTION 2. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance <br /> is held to 'be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other <br /> provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the <br /> invalid portion. <br /> SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions <br /> in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. <br /> SECTION 4. This Ordinance will take effect 10 days after the date of its final <br /> passage, and the City Secretary will publish notice of its adoption in a newspaper of <br /> general circulation in the City. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading April 13, 1998. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading April 27, 1998. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED May 11, 1998. <br /> FJ~~~ <br /> Billy G.
