<br /> <11" <br /> >-0 1~8 <br /> ~o <br /> <1:~ <br /> [:;:j:::ãE <br /> ,,'- 0::0::: <br /> ..., Um <br /> 0 W...hñ <br /> en..... <br /> ~ 0; <br /> -' ORDINANCE 1998 - 52 <br /> -:; <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITf OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER MAINTAINED <br /> UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY THE <br /> ADDITION OF MULTI-WAY STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF <br /> COLUMBIA AVENUE AND ADVANCE STREET AND COLUMBIA AVENUE <br /> AND HAZELTON STREET; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br /> AND PROVIDING FOR PENAL TIES. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The installation of multi-way stop signs is a matter of public safety and the City <br /> Council believes the intersections of Columbia Avenue and Advance Street and <br /> Columbia Avenue and Hazelton Street require multi-way stop signs to improve <br /> public safety. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 82.066 of the San Marcos City Code, the <br /> traffic register maintained under Section 82.067 of the Code is amended to include multi- <br /> way stop signs at the intersections of Columbia Avenue and Advance Street and <br /> Columbia Avenue and Hazelton Street. <br /> SECTION 2. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this <br /> ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the <br /> other provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without <br /> the invalid portion. <br /> SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances or <br /> resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. <br /> SECTION 4. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance commits <br /> a misdemeanor and is subject to the penalty provided in Section 1.015 of the San Marcos <br /> City Code upon conviction. <br /> SECTION 5. This Ordinance takes effect ten (10) days after the date of its <br /> final passage, and the City Secretary will publish notice of its adoption in a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the City. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading June 8, 1998 <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading June 22, 1998 <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED July 13, 1998. <br /> fJ~~~ ~ <br /> Billy.
