<br /> 178 <br /> RESOLUTION 1998 - 1 6. 7 R <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN <br /> AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT OF LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY <br /> AND THE GREATER SAN MARCOS YOUTH COUNCIL BY EXTENDING <br /> THE TIME TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS <br /> UNDER THE AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> EXECUTE THE AMENDMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City and the Greater San Marcos Youth Council entered into an Agreement <br /> of Lease on September 13, 1989, which was subsequently amended on August 25, <br /> 1997, and January 27, 1998. The second amendment provided for the <br /> construction of a family resource center with construction to begin within 180 days <br /> of the effective date of the amendment. <br /> 2. The Greater San Marcos Youth Council is unable to begin construction on the <br /> resource center within the 180 day period provided by the second amendment and <br /> has requested this extension. The Youth Council expects to begin construction in <br /> October of this year. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The terms and conditions of the attached Amendment Three to <br /> Agreement of Lease are approved. <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the <br /> amendment on behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3.
