O~INANCE NO. 2003- 24 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 22, CEMETERIES, OF THE CITY CODE TO <br />UPDATE AND CLARIFY CITY I~GULATIONS <br />RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CEMETERY; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br /> 62 <br />0 <br /> <br />~..< <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> I. The City Cemetery Commission has reviewed the current ordinances regarding the City <br />cemetery and recorm~ended changes, including provisions regarding the availability of columbarium <br />niches. <br /> <br /> 2. The Cemetery Commission discussed these changes at its meeting September 22, 2002. <br /> 3. The Cemetery Commission approved final changes on January 22, 2003. <br /> <br /> 4. The City Council wishes to revise Chapter 22, Cemeteries, of the City Code to <br />incorporate the recommended changes. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 22, Cemeteries, of the City Code is m~aended as follows (underlinin~ <br />indicates added text; overstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Chapter 22 CEMETERIES <br /> <br />Sec. 22.001. Definitions. <br /> <br />In this chapter: <br /> <br />Caretaker memos the person employed by the city or by the city's cemetery maintenance <br />contractor to oversee the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. Unless otherwise stated, <br />the caretaker may delegate his dnties and authority under this chapter to an anthorized <br />representative. <br /> <br />Cemetery means the San Marcos Cemetery. <br /> <br />Cohtmbarium means a buildin~ at the cemetery/with niches for the placement of funeral urns. <br /> <br /> <br />
