Chapter 4 - San Marcos Tomorrow Annexation Review Plan
Annexation Review Plan Contents
The Annexation Review PIan of San Marcos Horizons describes the recommended
timetable for determining when areas of land should be evaluated for possible annexation
into the City of San Marcos. The listing of an area on the Annexation Review Plan does
not mean it will be annexed that year. It does indicate, however, that the city will do a
cost / benefit study to determine the feasibility of annexation. The Annexation Review
Plan will be revised and updated annually. The Annexation Review Plan categorizes
proposed annexation areas by the year they will be considered for annexation. The
Annexation Review Plan is presented on the following page.
1998
-
The Annexation Plan proposes five areas be evaluated for annexation by the end of 1998:
. An area bounded by Yarrington Road on the north, the San Marcos
Technology Park on the south, and IH-35 on the west;
. The Gardens at Willow Creek Subdivision;
. An area bounded by McCarty Lane on the north, IH-35 on the east,
Centerpoint Road on the south, and the Union Pacific Railroad on the west;
. An area east ofthe Civic Center along Clovis Barker Road; and
. An area to the north ofthe San Marcos Factory Shops.
1999
-
Areas proposed to be evaluated for annexation in 1999 include various tracts of land
adjacent to the city:
. An area bounded by Yarrington Road on the north, IH-35 on the east, and the
BIanco River on the south and west;
. An area bounded by the San Marcos Technology Park on the north, County
Road 160 on the east, the Blanco River on the south and IH-35 on the west;
San Marcos Horizons 4-54
