She stated the City only has $532,495.00, so the <br />recommendation for funding is Southside Community Center at $85,000.00, <br />The Village of San Marcos requested at $283,460.00; Habitat for Humanity at <br />$70,000.00 and the Program Administrator at 180 $94,035.00. Ms. Robertson <br />inquired to whether Habitat for Humanity can purchase lots for $70,000.00. <br />Ms. Hendrix stated Habitat for Humanity feels they can locate lots for this <br />amount. Mr. Jones inquired to what the Village would be using these funds <br />for. Ms. Hendrix stated these funds will be used for engineering services, <br />construction plans, developing a concept plan, drainage and waterlines. <br />Mr. Guerrero inquired to the past CDBG recommendations. Ms. Hendrix stated <br />in 2005 the Council recommended $531,285.00 and in 2004 the Council <br />recommended $600,000.00, she would have to get back to the Council with the <br />2006 funding amounts. Mr. Thomaides stated 2003 the Council approved a one <br />time funding for The Village. Mayor Narvaiz stated the 2003 funding for <br />the Village was for seed money for Staff and since then this idea has grown <br />and now there are several other groups who became part of this <br />organization. Mr. Thomaides stated he feels every year there should be a <br />City sidewalk project. He also stated he doesn't want the Village to <br />request CDBG funds yearly. The Council agreed to the 2007 Action Plan <br />Funding recommendations. Mayor Narvaiz thanked everyone for their hard <br />work on this project. <br />Executive Session pursuant to the Government Code, Section 551.074, to <br />discuss the employment of a public officer or employee (City Manager). The <br />Council adjourned into Executive Session at 6:39 p.m. <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 7:06 p.m. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session.
