<br />I <br /> <br />NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE <br />CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />(the"City"), at its meeting to commence at 7:00 P.M. on June 5, 2007, at its regular meeting place <br />in the City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas, tentatively proposes to authorize the issuance <br />of interest bearing certificates of obligation of the City, in the total aggregate principal amount not <br />to exceed $12,500,000, for the public purpose of paying contractual obligations incurred or to be <br />incurred for: (1) constructing, improving, extending, expanding, upgrading and/or developing City <br />streets, bridges, sidewalks, intersections, parking lots and related traffic improvements and costs and <br />purchasing any necessary right-of-way and equipment therefor, including widening and extending <br />Wonder World Drive; (2) acquiring and purchasing vehicles, equipment, technology upgrades and <br />computers for City purposes; (3) constructing, renovating and improving City buildings for ADA <br />compliance; (4) constructing, improving, renovating and/or equipping City park and recreational <br />facilities, including acquisition of park land and construction of tennis courts and skate park; (5) <br />constructing, improving, renovating and/or equipping existing animal shelter; (6) constructing, <br />renovating, repairing and improving the Rio Dam; (7) implementation ofthe habitat conservation plan <br />for the San Marcos River, including stabilizing the river banks and removal of silt and gravel; (8) <br />acquisition and implementation of the automated meter reading project; and (9) the payment of <br />professional services in connection therewith including legal, fiscal and engineering fees and the costs <br />of issuing the certificates of obligation. The City presently proposes to provide for the payment of <br />the certificates of obligation by the levy of ad valorem taxes, within the limits prescribed by law. The <br />certificates of obligation will be additionally payable from a limited pledge of the City's water and <br />waste water system not to exceed $1,000. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SanMarcos.07B.InLent Resolution <br />
