Sector One
Chapter 2 - Today
Right of Way
Right -of -way is the land used for public travel and property access, typically owned
and maintained by the city or state. Unused or unopened right -of -way is included in
the Vacant category. About 12% of the land in the Sector is used for street right -of-
way (22% of the developed land).
Vacant
Vacant uses include undeveloped land, unused public right -of -way, and other land
without a principal non - agricultural use. Vacant land makes up about 34% of the
Sector. The largest area of vacant land is located south of Purgatory Creek of
approximately 170 acres, including the Carson Tract and the proposed Albertson's
grocery store site at the corner of Wonder World Drive and Hopkins Street. Another
sizable vacant tract is located adjacent to the Bracewood Circle apartments. Much of
the remaining vacant land is located in or near the floodplain of Purgatory Creek.
Other individual vacant tracts are located throughout the Sector.
Adopted: September 13, 2004 2 -9
