Organizations involved include the City of San Marcos, Southwest Texas State <br /> University, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, the Lions <br /> Club, and other private organizations, and diving and canoeing groups. These organizations share <br /> in the financing, clean ups, public education efforts, and sponsorship of annual special events, <br /> including Earth Day and River Awareness Month. <br /> . <br />
