AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />a-sf ~ 5 ~ MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.069 OF THE SAN <br />Ii! ~ r-<\" ~.=; MARCOS CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE NUMBER OF MEETINGS <br />:..J -0 ..-! ~ an WITHIN A YEAR FROM WHICH A MEMBER OF A CITY BOARD OR <br />¡¡:.J\ g:~; COMMISSION THAT MEETS ON A QUARTERLY BASIS M;;'Y BE <br />-= <:I: ~~ ABSENT; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2.069(c) of the San Marcos City Code is amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />-' (c) The absence of a member of a board or commission that meets <br />quarterly from two meetings during the preceding 12 months, whether <br />voluntary or excused, will result in automatic resignation of the member from <br />the board or commission. The absence of a member of any other board or <br />commission member from 25% or more of the board or commission's <br />meetings during the preceding 12 months, whether voluntary or excused, will <br />result in automatic resignation of the member from the b.oard or commission. <br />Within this subsection, "meeting" includes workshops and any other posted <br />meetings of the board or commission. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, Or paragraph of this ordinance <br />is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other <br />provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the <br />invalid portion. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions in <br />conflict with this ordinance are repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance will take effect 10 days after the date of its final <br />passage, and the City Secretary will publish notice of its adoption in a newspaper of <br />general circulation in the City. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading APRIL 14, 1997 <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading APRIL 28, 1997 <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED HAY 12, 1997. <br /> <br />PJ.~~. ~ <br /> <br />Billy G.
