<br /> - 192 <br /> : <br /> , . <br /> t <br /> RESOLUTION 1997- 7l R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR EXPANSION OF <br /> THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL <br /> DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The Hays County Appraisal District Board of Directors is made up of five <br /> individuals who represent the taxing entities of Hays County in the management of the <br /> Appraisal District, which is responsible for keeping tract of property ownership and <br /> appraising property in Hays County for tax purposes. <br /> 2. The limited number of Board Members results in one of the county's six major <br /> taxing entities not being directly represented on the Board. <br /> 3. The Hays County Judge has initiated a movement to expand the CAD Board <br /> at the earliest possible opportunity so that all the county's major taxing entities are <br /> represented. <br /> 4. The expansion of the CAD Board is in the best interest of the City Of San <br /> Marcos and the other taxing entities within Hays County. . <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The City Council requests that the Hays County Appraisal District take <br /> steps to expand its board of directors to enable all of Hays County's major taxing entities <br /> to have direct representation on the board. <br /> PART 2.
