(WiITel) is proud to offer the <br />following proposal in response to The City of San Marcos data network <br />needs. <br /> <br />WilTel's offering is based upon the World's leading physical layer platform, <br />Cisco, as the foundation for the proposed network. WilTel's proposal <br />provides a comprehensive, cost-effective, single vendor solution for CUlTent <br />specifications, ongoing service and support, and future capacity <br />requiremeJ:?ts. The proposed solution will meet and exceed the requirements <br />set forth by The City of San Marcos, and contains products that has <br />demonstrated a successful track record of providing the required <br />functionality and reliability to many businesses and city governments. <br /> <br />WilTel has partnered with Cisco Corporation to provide all major network <br />switching and routing products. This strategy capitalized on WilTel' s in <br />place technical resources and expertise as well as creating àn environment <br />supported by a single manufacturer, common 10S soft\vare platforms and <br />network management elements. <br /> <br />The Server applications, i.e. Network and Database, are supported by <br />Compaq. These Compaq Servers will be configured with MS NT and MS <br />Exchange for all clients on the network. <br /> <br />i Overlaying this hardware platform are a comprehensive suite of services <br />I including installation, on-site maintenance, and configuration management. <br />The WilTel National Technical Resource Center (NTRC), located in <br />Houston, Texas, is key in allowing WilTel to assume operational control of <br />the network as well as managing local on-site technical resources. The <br />NTRC supports WilTel's monitoring, management, diagnostic and dispatch <br />systems. These systems combine to effectively allow WilTe! to manage the <br />physical layer environment on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis. <br /> <br />WilTel is proud of its heritage as a forward thinking and customer- <br />responsive organization.
