This grant is designed to aid a <br />jurisdiction establish a hazardous materials response team. Enclosed is an application package <br />for these grants. The grants can be used for the purchase of: <br />0 Detection equipment may include but not limited to equipment that detects for <br /> combustible gas, oxygen deficiency, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrous oxide, <br /> nitrogen peroxide, hydrogen sulfide, chlorine and toxicological agents. Note that are <br /> some detectors that will perfonn multiple functions that are available. <br />0 Chemical protective suits include an assortment of Level A suits that will best <br /> meet the needs of the local jurisdiction. <br />Please bring this program to the attention of your response elements such as the fire department <br />at the earliest opportunity. The application package contains the specific instructions for filing a <br />grant proposal. <br />These grants provide for reimbursement of costs incurred by the jurisdiction in purchasing <br />hazardous materials response equipment. <br />This grant application must be received no later than August 29, 1997. Your work on developing <br />a hazardous materials response team is appreciated.
