<br /> Additionally, applicants should be aware that each item does not require an individual vendor. In other words, many <br /> vendors offer packages that include all of the necessary equipment for Internet connectivity as well as installation and <br /> trai'ning fees. To best leverage TIF funds and to make projects easier and more efficient, applicants should consider <br /> comoetitive packages that include installation and installation-related training costs. Three years of maintenance costs <br /> must be included. <br /> Once awarded, applicants will officially begin the bidding process. For this reason, budgeted items may change. Any <br /> adjustment that is more than 10% of the entire project must be approved by TfF. Please see the TIFGranlee Handbook <br /> for more details about grant adjustments. <br /> Applicants should be aware that adjusting the budget. working with vendors, and how to conduct bids will be some of the <br /> topics at the first TIF workshop. Our goal is to make this process as informative and easy as possible. <br /> ALward and Trainin s <br /> Awards <br /> It is anticipated that grant recipients will be announced on December 12, 1997. Grantees will receive a TIF award packet <br /> containing a statement of grant award and a grant request form. Grantees must accept the grant and submit the grantee <br /> request form in order to receive the first half of the award. The first half of the award will not be disbursed until after the <br /> grantee has attended the TIF grantee kickoff in January. The second half of the award will be disbursed after the grantee <br /> has attended the orientation kickoff and one of the regional workshops. <br /> Training <br /> On January 20, 1998, a grantee kickoff will be held by TIF and TSL.' All grantees wiJI be required to attend this event. <br /> The purpose of the kickoff is to help grantees understand the TIF grant process, educate grantees about Internet services <br /> and related equipment, and provide introductory Internet training. A detailed training syllabus will be provided once <br /> awards have been announced. <br /> A TIFrrSL Internet Training Workshop will be held in May 1998.10 All grantees will be required to attend this event. <br /> Training will consist of basic Internet usage, providing public access, and other related topics. A detailed training <br /> syllabus will be provided once awards have been announced.
