Because you have submitted Certified <br /> Assurance that your agency is in compliance with applicable civil rights laws, this <br /> office has determined that you have met this requirement in the Department of Justice <br /> regulations governing recipients of Federal financial assistance (see 28 C.F.R. sec. <br /> 42.204, Applicants' obligations). As Director of the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), <br /> Office of Justice Programs, I would like to offer you my assistance in completing the <br /> conditions of these Assurances, specifically Nos. 13, 14, and 15, as the grant goes <br /> forward. <br /> As you know, equal opportunity for the participation of women and minority <br /> individuals in employment and services provided under programs and activities <br /> receiving Federal financial assistance is required by law.
