<br /> 70 <br /> RESOLUTION 1900 - 61R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CllY COUNCIL OF THE CllY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS ADOPTING THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS WATER <br /> CONSERVATION AND EMERGENCY WATER DEMAND MANAGEMENT <br /> PLAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS <br /> 1. The City is undertaking planning efforts to meet the demands of its water <br /> customers, for the present and in the future. <br /> 2. The City has developed a utility system capital improvements program to expand <br /> and upgrade wastewater treatment plant capacity, wastewater collection system and water <br /> distribution and storage facilities. <br /> 3. The City believes it is in the long-term best interests of the community to <br /> conserve potable water as well as use its water supply resources more efficiently. <br /> 4. The objective of the Water Conservation and Emergency Water Demand <br /> Management Plan is to reduce the quantity required for water use activities through <br /> , <br /> efficient water use practices. <br /> 5. The Water Conservation and Emergency Water Demand Management Plan <br /> provides procedures for voluntary and mandatory actions to be placed into effect to <br /> temporarily reduce the demand placed on the City's available water system during a water <br /> shortage emergency. <br /> 6. The City has also developed supply trigger conditions for mild, moderate, severe <br /> and critical emergency canditions, contained in Sections 86.056-86.063 of the City Code. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED\J;ty THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CllY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The City Council approves the City of Water Conservation and <br /> Emergency Water Demand Management Plan, a copy of which is attached to this <br /> resolution. <br /> PART 2.
