71)Ç
EXBIBIT B
-
II B. Projected \Vater Demands
Source of projected water demands is "Surface Water Supply Study, City of San Marcos, 'Texas",
HDR Engineering, Inc., October, 1994. The projections of water demand were based upon
population projections for the San Marcos service area, which includes San Marcos pennanent
residents, Southwest Texas State University students who are temporary resident,s (9 months of
the year) and Camp Gary Job Corps students. Projections ar~ based upon per capita water use of
210 gallons per person per day from San Marcos water use reports to the Texas "\Vater
Development Board and are for dry weather conditions which occulTed during the period 1980
through 1984.
The dry weather condition per capita water use was adjusted downward from the computed value
of 210 gpcd (gallons per person per day) to accomplish a 15 percent reduction to 178 gpcd by
2010. The projected per capita water use was then used to make projections of water demand by
multiplying projected per capita water use times projected population.
- -
.
